[METHOD] Make Money With Clickbank (Youtube, Website etc) Step By Step

It's reckoned that ClickBank have over 2 million affiliates but only 100,000 are active. And of those only a minority are successful. And so by the law of averages I am sure that you as a vendor have a range of affiliates - a few making many sales but the remainder all struggling.

How to Make Money with ClickBank – Step by Step
The first step is creating your CB account.

If you don’t have an account you have to join clickbank: Register here as affiliate!

When you hit marketplace you can start to browse by category.

At this stage I suggest you choose a category of your interest or something you want to learn more about.

Now, before browsing for products in a specific category there is something you must know.

  • Clickbank is the major retailer of digital products in the world and they do their best to get rid of low quality products, nevertheless there is a lot of useless products. So, you have to make sure to pick products that are worth promoting.
  • This particular product pays $44.68 per sale on average. Now, it's important to note that the amount you earn per sale may not match that number exactly due to upsells, sales tax, chargebacks, etc. However, this will give you an idea of what you can earn
  • Gravity is kind of an obscure factor but it gives you an idea about how many people/affiliates are making money online by selling that product. The data is compiled based on the last 8 weeks and each affiliate that makes sales during this period can add the maximum of 1 point and the minimum of 0.1 to the gravity of a product. So, by using a roughly approximation we can assume that if the gravity of a product is 40, it can indicate that there are about 80 affiliates making money from that product. If you want to know how to make fast money with clickbank, don’t choose products which the gravity is very high.
  • I would suggest anything from 6 up to 50. Why? Because the competition is a little lower, but there are still plenty of people making money by selling that product.
  • Check out the Stats information at the bottom of the result. This provides more details about what you can earn.
  • Notice the Initial $/sale stat is much lower than the average $/sale. This particular vendor offers several products, which is why the initial sale stat and average sale prices differ.
  • Average %sale means the average commission for this product is 45% per sale.
  • The Avg Rebill Total of $8.09, indicates this is a recurring billing product and that's the average amount the affiliate earns. So not only can you earn for one sale, but you will also earn for any customer re-bills. This is how your income can really add up over time.
Selecting a product to promote is the first and most important step. It always take me 3-4 hours to find the right product from thousands of Clickbank’s products. If you found a good product, your budget for SEO or PPC will be decreased a lot while your profit still increase and increase. But you maybe confused at choosing one from so many products.
So today I will tell you about how to choose the right Clickbank product to promote.
How to Choose Clickbank’s Products

First, head over to Clickbank’s Marketplace, where all their products listed

Please have a look at the left sidebar, you will see their product categories. Click on any categories here you will be redirect to that category’s products. For example, I choose Health & Fitness category, the most popular niche.

At the center of this page you can see a lot of products are listed here. On the top of these products details you will see: Results per page & Sort Results by

I always choose Results per page as 50 and Sort Results by Gravity because it’s the most important factor when analyzing a product. I will explain why it’s important later.

Okay so please have a look at a product, for example: The Venus Factor

You can see a lot of factors in the “Stats” zone. What they are and what do those numbers tell you?

  • Initial $/sale: This is the average amount that you will earn for each purchase you refer. One-time upsell purchases are also considered initial sales. This number takes into account refunds, chargebacks, and sales tax. Since vendors may offer products with different prices and commissions, the amount you earn on any given sale may not match this number exactly.
  • Avg Rebill Total: This number is only shown if the vendor offers recurring billing products (e.g., products like memberships and subscriptions that regularly bill customers over time). This number shows the average amount an affiliate makes on all of the rebilled sales. Note that this number doesn’t include the initial sale amount.
  • Avg $/sale: For one-time purchases, this number is the same as Initial $/sale. If the vendor offers recurring billing products, it equals the average total of the initial sale plus all rebills, divided by the number of initial sales. To put it simply, for every new purchase of this product, this amount is the average you’d make in total over the life of a new customer. However, this is just an average; this amount is not guaranteed.
  • Avg %/sale: This number shows the average commission rate earned for all sales of a vendor’s products, including one-time purchases, rebills, and upsell purchases. Since vendors can offer different commission rates for different types of products, this number may not exactly match the commission rate you earn on any given sale.
  • Avg %/rebill: This number is only shown if the vendor offers recurring billing products, and shows the average commission rate earned only on rebills.
  • Grav: This is also called Gravity. It represents an unique calculation by ClickBank that takes into account the number of different affiliates who earned a commission by promoting this product over the past 12 weeks. The higher gravity that product has, the more competitors you have to fight. That’s why it’s the most important factor when analyzing product

After having a basic knowledge about these factors above, you can determine which one will be choosen based on how much you will earn and how hard to promote it. But is it enough? No, not at all. This is just the beginning. You need more information to decide which one is the best for you.

Secret Tips to Find the Right Products to Promote

These tips below are the secret I want to share with you, use them and add more little twist you will find a gold mine product to promote

1. Select products which have gravity not too high

From 5 to 30 is the best. Trust me you don’t want to fight thousands of professional affiliates out there. They have more budget, more skills, more tools and more knowledge than you. So as a beginner, it’s easier for you when choosing a low gravity product to promote

2. Select products from not so competitive niche.

Health & Fitness and Games are so popular niche. They are hot every season so products in these niche are pretty hard to promote for beginners. Also don’t pay much attention at Software niche as people often search for cracked version. I recommend products from Education and Self-help niche. People always spend their money for educating and improving themselves

3. Select products which has recurring payment

Try hard to make 1 sale and get tons of sales every month without lifting a finger. Earn money from rebill every month is a sweet feelings. You can make bank even when you are on vacation or don’t want to promote anymore

4. Select products which you are familiar with

This is also important because if you’re familiar with product you choose. You will know what your audiences want and where is the best to promote (like forums, facebook page…). You can also write content, create video to promote without hiring any freelancers.

5. Select products which have nice sale pages

If you visit a poor design, crappy content sale pages, would you buy their products. I bet the answer is “Never”. There are so many products at Clickbank have a very bad sale page. And their vendors don’t update them and leave them outdated for a very long time. So stay away products like that. Just go for nice sale pages. I see many vendors now adding video sale letter (VSL) and they are converted well because people are lazy to read a long sale page. Products which have affiliate tools (banners, email swipes, articles, keywords…..) also good for you

6. Select products which have high commission or high price

You will earn big money if promoting these products. It’s not worth promoting those products which cost less than $10 or commission less than 50%

7. Select products from good communication vendors

Before promoting products, try to contact their vendors to ask for review copy and even refund rate. If they reply you quickly and give you helpful information then you should rely on them. This is neccessary because you will know which vendors do care about their business. And they will help you a lot as you’re their affiliate, who working for them and make sale for their products

8. Select products which are new or not outdated

I see some products which was appeared in 2007 or even sooner. And there is no update till today. It’s 2014 now and coming 2015 so those outdated products may not attract buyer. I always choose products which are appeared since 2012. New products also have less competitors than very old products
Okay so my secret is spread out lol. But sharing is caring right?

So you have many criteria to consider now. How do you filter all products to fit your needs? It’s easy. Clickbank provides Advanced Searchfeature to help you to do that

At the Marketplace page, click on Advanced Search on the right of Find Products bar or head over this link, you will be redirect to Advanced Search page

You can apply all filters above on this page. Here is my favourite filter:

  • On the top: Result per page: 50
  • In stats: Tick on Show item with gravity then choose between: 5 and 30
  • In Language: Tick on English
  • In Billing Type: Tick on Recurring
  • In Vendor Activation Date: Tick on Vendor was activated then choose After 1/1/2012
  • In Affiliate Tools Page: Tick on Vendor has affiliate tools page available
  • In Vendor Spotlight: Tick on Vendor has a vendor spotlight page (optional)

After done all, hit the search button and there you go

Choosing products is time consuming but it’s worth spending time.

That’s all. Hope you like my post

Thank you!

Obtaining Your Affiliate Link (Hoplink)

Once you decide on a product you want to promote, click the green Promote button alongside the listing. You will be presented with this form.

In the Account Nickname box, enter the ClickBank ID you created when you setup your ClickBank account, and add a Tracking ID if you want to keep track of where the sale is coming from.

EPC

EPC stands for earnings per click. If you want to really understand how to make money with clickbank you have to learn to analyze EPC.

You built your website, are driving traffic to it, people are clicking through your affiliate link but no one is buying! It’s terrible. EPC is that important!A good merchant will show the EPC flat out! It is an average but it gives you a great sense of how well that product converts. But that is not all, you also want a low refund rate, because if a visitor bought a product using your link and then ask for a refund, this not only affects the merchant but you also would lose the commission.
If the product is good, the refund rate MUST be lower than 15%.

Best Ways to Promote ClickBankYoutube

  1. Do a Google search for the product name. Make sure there's already a YouTube video on page 1 and it has less than 20,000 views. If it does, you can easily outrank them with basic SEO
  2. Optional: Email the product creator and ask for a review copy. Tell them you're an experienced experienced marketer and you'll be driving traffic to a review video with SEO. 60% of the time, they'll hook you up.
  3. If you get the review copy, great. If not, you can do this anyways using the sales page as content for your review. Or, you can move on to another product.
  4. Create a screen capture video with Camtasia or Camstudio (free version) reviewing the product. If you got a review copy, do an "inside look" of the product. Make sure to have a call to action to click on the link below the video.
  5. Save the video as productname.mp4. This actually helps with rankings
  6. Upload to YouTube, include product name in title, description and tags. Add an annotation with the product name.
  7. The first line of your description should be "Product Name Download: hxxp://www.yourafflink.com(cloak your affiliate link by buying a new domain and redirecting it, or use tinyurl)
  8. Get fast views to your video from here (BHW) or Fiverr ($1 for ~1000+ views, ~30 likes and some comments)
  9. Buy some link wheel or backlinks blast from Fiverr such as CrorkService.
  10. Repeat same process with other products.

Or just go to Fiverr buy video review from there and upload to yourtube. Then repeat step 7, 8 and 9.
Niche Websites/BlogsLow competitive niche + Domain name + hosting + 500 to 1000 words review + good quality backlinks

  1. Choose a domain name that is keyword rich in a niche that you are passionate about. By doing this it will be easier for you to update your blog on a semi – regular basis if your actually interested in what you will be blogging about ( But make sure it is in a profitable niche where there is money to be made ). You can buy a domain name at Godaddy, or Hostgator.com but I recommend you buy the domain name at the company you will be using as your webhost it will save you a little bit of time, and headache.
  2. Choose a webhost – I use Hostgator they have excellent customer service and they are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week for your convenience.
  3. If you run into problems getting your blog set up all you have to do is call Hostgator’s customer support team and they will help you with any questions that you may have free of charge as long as you have a hosting package through them.
  4. Only post 100% unique content on your blog that is of high value. If you do not have anything to say or talk about do not blog that day save it for another day when you come up with a good idea for a blog post. People with be more inclined to share your blog post with others if it offers value to them. Traffic = money online. The more traffic you have the more money you are going to make.
  5. Monetize your blog with a few top converting affiliate offers. Make sure you capture leads from your blog’s visitors so you can turn them into paying customers one day down the line by building a solid relationship with your email subscribers.
  6. Update your blog at least once or twice a week and stay steady with it. If you can update your blog more than that go ahead, but just make sure your blog posts are offering value of some sort.
  7. Content is king online – Content is the driving force of the internet and it is what the internet was made for ( contrary to what many say no it was not porn lol ). Give your blog visitors what they need some good solid content, and they will keep coming back for more. Hopefully with credit cards in hand next time.
  8. If niche isl ow competitive, then its easy to rank with some quality backlinks.

Promoting Clickbank products with AdWords
Promoting Clickbank products with AdWords is a little easier – often Google will approve campaigns that link directly to landing pages with your referral ID in them. Sometimes they won’t however, so you’ll have to do the same thing as is mentioned above for CPA; publish your own, useful landing page, with a banner on for people to click that takes them to the Clickbank page.
Remember that a lot of other people also advertise Clickbank products on AdWords, so competition and consequently CPCs will be quite high for the more popular products. To that end, you should try and find a less “hyped” product and promote that – carving out your own niche can be very profitable. Don’t just assume that by promoting the same products as everyone else you’re going to be successful, because it doesn't always work like that.

Email
Email marketing is also an effective way of promoting products. Be careful, though. You don't want to continually pitch products to your subscribers. That's not a good strategy. Just like with your website, you should aim to provide nothing but quality, and promote products on occasion.
Use your list to inform your audience of important site updates, special news and provide exclusive offers. Weave in relevant product links every so often.
Social Media
If you have a large following (especially if it's very niche), you can also make money promoting products via social media. Just remember, you can turn your follower’s way off by being overly aggressive with affiliate links. However, a casual, relevant mention here and there is fine. And you don't even need a website to promote Clickbank products. You can just promote the hoplink I showed you how to create above.

However, I've always found it to be more effective to mention products within articles rather than just promoting affiliate links by them.
So instead of just tweeting a link to a product you are promoting, tweet a link that provides a relevant how-to article that includes a link to the product in the copy. That's a much better strategy.
Using Banners to Promote The Products
If the product you are promoting has banners you can use, there is usually a link to the affiliate program located at the bottom of the main sales page. This is where you can often find banners for your website. For example ebook, Niche Website Success, niche forums there is a link to the affiliate page at the bottom of the landing page. That's where I provide the code for affiliates to add banners/links into their sites.
